HFOC is the brain child of Scott Faso and Charles Hardingham.
When Scott moved to Australia from the USA in 1998, he immediately identified a gap in the market for a place to sell perfectly good high-end furniture that just didn’t suit the owner’s current residence.
The idea came from his own experiences , moving from a large house in LA to a terrace house in Sydney’s Paddington, then to a modern apartment, and then back to a terrace house.
He sold some pieces at auction for practically nothing, and gave other pieces away. There were no other options available.
Consignment selling is common in California and has been a popular retail concept for over 30 years. Scott thought it would work perfectly in Australia and he was right.
In November 2002, Scott and Charles signed a lease on a 240 square meter warehouse space in Sydney’s Surry Hills.
The concept has been so well received that in July of 2006, the pair expanded to a beautiful 550 square meter space in the growing furniture precinct of Alexandria.
HFOC is now known throughout the country as the only place to sell your quality pre-owned designer furniture.
For those wanting to buy, you will find ‘as new’ pieces by brand names such as B&B Italia, Poliform, Herman Miller, Cassina, Minotti, Kartell, Ligne Roset and Jardan, all for well below the ‘new’ retail price.
